THIS WEEK’S COMEDIANS
Tyler Morrison is quickly emerging as one of the most talked about comedians from Canada with his hilarious brand of working class comedy. He has been featured at The Boston Comedy Festival, San Diego Comedy Festival, Atlanta Laughing Skull Fest, JFL42 Festival, and Caroline’s on Broadway for the Roast of WWE Legend The Iron Sheik. Named one of the Top 10 Comedians of 2014 by SiriusXM Canada, he has also appeared on CBC’s hit show The Debaters, Robert Kelly’s You Know What Dude, and The Ron Jeremy Celebrity Roast where he received a standing ovation. After winning the Dark Comedy Festival in Toronto, Morrison was selected to host celebrity headliner Gilbert Gottfried’s Ontario tour. Following his appearance at the 2013 NXNE Festival, Morrison was brought back in 2014 to headline his own shows while appearing on bills with the likes of Robert Kelly and Marc Maron.
A leader in the new wave comedy, Morrison won the Social Media Award at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival in 2014 and has twice been a featured winner on Comedy Central’s @midnight Top 10 hashtag wars. His self-produced debut album “Impolitely Canadian” is currently in heavy rotation on SiriusXM, and his debut album “Armed and Hammered” made it all the way to number 1 on the iTunes new release charts. Tyler currently has his own Daily Roast Segment on SiriusXM’s Todd Shapiro Show and is one of the co-hosts of the popular Rude Dudes Podcast.
From the moment Derek hits the stage, audiences feel like they’re relaxing with an old friend who sometimes makes you think, but always makes you laugh. Derek takes you on an amusing romp through family life, romance and bike-riding alligators with playful, original material that ranges from clean to risqué, but is never vulgar.
His engaging style, quick wit and awkward charm has made Derek a hit with crowds and critics alike. He has performed at the Just For Laughs Festival (3x) as well as Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Derek’s career highlights include a host of tv and radio appearances (JFL, the Mike Bullard Show, Yuk Yuk’s and CBC comedy specials), a writing gig for Comedy Central and the L.A. Times syndicate, and sharing a stage with Chris Rock, Louie CK and Sarah Silverman.
Fast thinking, quick witted and gayer than a picnic basket bought with a three dollar bill, Richard Ryder takes the stage with a refreshing energy and “no holds barred” attitude that audiences welcome again and again. No topic is too taboo for this Toronto native whose comedy is fresh, fast, funny and a constant source of embarrassment to his family. Which is exactly how it should be. No stranger to TV, Richard’s Comedy Now on The Comedy Network is one of the network’s most popularly replayed episodes to date. He’s also the host of the international hit TV series Knock Knock Ghost which can be seen on OUTtvGo in Canada.
Richard’s brilliantly eclectic humour has also been featured on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, CBC Radio 1’s Accent On Toronto, Q107 where he won their Funniest Person With A Day Job. As if this weren’t enough, Richard can also be seen live, working the comedy circuit throughout Canada and the States. All kidding aside, Richard must be experienced live. He’s a hoot!
