Western Fair School Ag-Tours for teachers and students
About this event
Western Fair Association annually provides thousands of local school children free agriculture tours during the Western Fair. With the recent cancellation of the physical fair due to pandemic restrictions, we are offering a FREE valuable virtual package of agriculture education that will be available for teachers and their students to benefit from in the classroom or through online learning at home.
Working with our partners: Growing Chefs Ontario, Farm & Food Care Ontario, Ontario Federation of Agriculture, AgScape and several of the Province’s top commodity groups, we are excited to deliver V-PODs (Virtual Places of Discovery) where you can learn about each industry through videos, activities, Q&A, and more.
NOTE: To accommodate the uncertain school year, all resources will be available for you for the duration of the school year.
1. Register for the resource library, virtual schedule of events.
2. You will receive a link to a webpage through Eventbrite communication and by the Program Manager, which will include the schedules and links to the resource library. This will include FREE activities, educational farm videos, live Q&A and more!
Note for teachers- this link can be shared within your classroom or with your students learning at home.
3. The links to access the daily live sessions will be included in the daily schedules. The chatbox will be open to ask the farmers questions. All sessions will be recorded and available to view after.
4. To accommodate the uncertain school year, all resources will be available for you for the duration of the school year. We encourage you to keep the website link so that you can access this online package as you please.
